SCAG’s Electric ride-on – the EVZ is now at the end of it’s first season; it is only fair to say that we have found the same as others that electric machines are still finding their place in the Council and contractor markets for large area and tough usage.

The machine is well set-up with power provided by the Vanguard 48V 5kWh Lithium-Ion commercial battery pack.

Estimated productivity is up to 5 acres per charge, though this depends entirely on cut height, terrain and conditions.

The required Vanguard 1050W battery charger is included with each mower

Estimated charging time: 5 hours = full charge / 3 hours = 80% charge

STM and SCAG still retain an enviable reputation for their pedestrian and ride-on range, with interesting already mounting up for the new season.

Elsewhere, leaf and debris clearance is still high on the agenda this time of year, and the STM / SCAG range of equipment has proved as popular as ever – with  impressive sales and interest in the SCAG Windstorm ride-on blower. And impressive is the right word to describe the specification of the machine as well: this is a stand-on unit, placing the operator on a stand at the back with a comfortable knee-pad in front, giving an excellent all-round view for the user. The format is based on the SCAG V-Ride mower but, as opposed to a cutting deck, it has a massive cyclone blower on the front, capable of 6000 cfm output. The power unit is a 37HP Briggs Vanguard engine and the operator drives the machine with twin hand levers to twin rear drive wheels to give zero-turn manoeuverability. Adjustable nozzle direction for the output completes the picture of a well-designed and highly effective leaf and debris clearance machine.

The machines are available through the STM dealership network. To find your nearest dealer ring 01789 488450, email or look at our website
